Last year, I had a service shop replace my water pump in a Ford Edge 3.5L Duratec. They didn't put anything between the jack & oil pan when they pulled off the timing cover and put a crack in my pan. Brought it back & they put silicon adhesive on the crack. After a nicely worded email about the idiocracy of that fix, I got a new pan put on free of charge
Reviews of OEM FORD oil pan
Fords plastic oil pan. What the fuck?
I was surprised by how few OEM oil pans for the 3rd gen 5.0L was in stock. Ended up needing to buy a used one on eBay after mine got cracked.
I came to the realization that the oil pan leak was just a normal part of ownership.
