I had a 82 Mazda rx7 that I put a Chevy 350 into, and let me tell ya.... The oil pan was one part that needed some "adjustments" to clear the center/drag link for the steering. I set it on the ground in my shop and beat it till the flanges weren't square anymore. When I went to install it, I used gray rtv, had to squeeze the sides to make the bolts line up. It didn't leak a drop tho, and it cleared the steering!!

Pros: didn't leak a drop
Cons: needed some adjustments

OEM FORD Oil pan

Last year, I had a service shop replace my water pump in a Ford Edge 3.5L Duratec. They didn't put anything between the jack & oil pan when they pulled off the timing cover and put a crack in my pan. Brought it back & they put silicon adhesive on the crack. After a nicely worded email about the idiocracy of that fix, I got a new pan put on free of charge

Pros: new pan put on
Cons: crack in pan
Vehicle: Ford Edge
Mileage: 180000 km

Mileage: 150 km

You ever seen the video where a guy takes the oil pan off a toyota camry and drives it to his mechanic. It took the Toyota a long time, I wouldn't do it with a ford.

Pros: Toyota lasted long time
Cons: Ford wouldn't do it
Vehicle: Toyota Camry

OEM Subaru Oil pan

I have an 18 hatch. Nothing but problems after my engine block fractured on a stand after they resealed my oil pan. After that, lots of leaking fluids, oil pans were redone literally 7 times between the upper and lower.

Pros: null
Cons: lots of leaking fluids
Vehicle: Subaru Impreza
