Towards the end of its run in our family, a gentleman who had worked in R&D for Ford had read a service bulletin about certain GM full-sized cars having a faulty fuel pump. He was a friend through church. He’d heard about our Olds and told my mom about the issue. I believe he paid for the repair in hopes it would fix our car. Instantly, all of its problems went away! It ran *perfectly.*

GM coolant temperature sensors rarely if ever go bad.
Just changed my fuel filter for the 1st time at 11,000 miles and a load of brown shit came out with it. Couldn’t believe it. Went with a new gm filter and installed an aluminum housing apposed to the plastic one!
I use the recommended one from GM.
GM covered any and all adjustments on this carb. You can remove the covers and make adjustments. It is a finicky carb.
some GM trucks have issues with heat soak on the starter where the starter actually doesnt work at all when the engine is hot. Let them cool off for a few hours and they fire right up again. Replacing the starter does nothing. Its an engine design flaw
Some GM engines would heat soak the starter when hot, making restarting harder on the starter motor. I believe the LS3 still had that problem, but it was worse in older V8 GM vehicles.
A windshield with enough distortion to give you headaches.
The only thing that has happened is, the batteries all halfway died and it turns out that is a very expensive problem with GM batteries so don’t let your vehicle sit for many months and so far you won’t have any problems.
4T60E gearboxes weren't great for reliability behind a V8.
