My girlfriend is in the same EXACT position as you. <1000miles on 2023 Honda HR-V and a rock hit a similar place as yours leaving a very similar crack as yours. Could be cheap glass, could be a structural integrity issue where the glass is just extra fragile at that area of glass directly above the wipers

My pre-COVID 2019 HR-V took a rock to the windshield and also cracked. The full bill ended up being $1,500 before insurance. Having to re-calibrate the camera apparently adds a chunk of money.
Was driving on the highway and sure enough, a flying pebble from God hits & cracks my windshield. I can't help but feel like Honda really cheapened out on the materials post-Covid
I found an independent shop who said they could do it without recalibrating - they were very careful when removing and reinstalling. I never had any issues after with smart cruise, lane keep, etc. They also claimed they didn’t need OEM glass, but we paid extra for OEM in case we needed to get calibrated at the dealer.
OEM glass+installed+camera aiming and recalibration is a BITCH. It's really costly and very unfortunate. You HAVE to use the OEM glass or you will pretty much render all of the driver assist features useless.
They put in a Honda windshield and I've had no issues.
Infact last week we got a 2015 oddessy that had non oem glass installed last year (no issues). Now we just replaced tje camera unit and it won't calibrate. We instslled a oem glass and problem solved.
