LIQUI MOLY Engine flush
Rating 4.0
  • Idle smoothness:

I've used liquimoly engine flush roughly every 10k miles- to good effect, since about 35k. I've not had any issues at all. I can see and feel a moderate, positive difference in performance for about a month or two after use.

Pros: positive difference in performance
Vehicle: Hyundai
Mileage: 10000 km

after flushing my engines with Liqui Moly engine flush, I run some fresh cheap oil for a few minutes, dump it, then pour proper oil. You'll be surprised how much more crap come out including left over engine flush.

Pros: removes leftover engine flush

So, I changed the oil today with a brief Lubimoly flush to make sure I'm starting with a clean engine inside. The supposedly fresh oil was not green and the filter was made in china with no branding. I'm glad I didn't trust the used car salesman.

Pros: clean engine inside
Cons: filter no branding
Vehicle: Volkswagen Tiguan
Mileage: 11000 km

When I made the switch I also bought a can of Liqui Moly Engine flush to run through the engine before changing the oil. This removes any built up sludge and deposits. My engine runs noticeably smoother and gas mileage is a little better.

Pros: removes sludge and deposits

I have used the Engine Flush, Ceratec, the more “normal” liqui Moly oil, and now the Molygen with no additives. When I did the Engine Flush with new cheap oil it did come out extra nasty looking. When I filled it up with Ceratec and normal Liqui Moly oil it did seem to run better and get a bit extra MPG. I use the Molygen 5w-40 for my normal yearly oil changes and no issues. I do have a 1995 ZJ with the 5.2. It’s not miracle stuff but it high quality and does appear to do what it advertises. At least in my application!

Pros: high quality, extra MPG
Cons: not miracle stuff

I had a similar issue in my Alfa Romeo Guilietta 1.4 MA (same engine as yours) for months, with Cylinder 2 misfiring then disappearing on restart. Never showed a fault code though.

I solved it just a few days ago by doing an engine flush with Liqui Moly, cleaning the MA filter, bleeding the MA unit (I think this was most crucial), and changing to 0W-30 oil.

Pros: solved misfiring issue
Cons: misfiring, disappearing on restart
Vehicle: Alfa Romeo

Flush it with Liqui Moly or BPR engine flush, then use 5W-40.

(LM Leichtlauf reviews really well, but cheap-and-often is better than expensive-but-seldom when it comes to oil changes; I do mine once a year with boggo Comma or Mannol.)

Pros: reviews really well
Cons: cheap and often

I dealt with it by using liquid Molly engine flush. I used it a little differently than directed. Put it in & drive the car for about 200 mi Don't beat on it of course Then have the oil change. that car uses a 5W 30 oil I went with a 0w 30 The car burned almost no oil between changes after that.

Pros: burned almost no oil
Cons: collects a lot carbon
Mileage: 200 km
