Drove a Chevy Cavalier my entire apprenticeship. Good on gas, easy to park, sure footed with Snow Tires.
brake pads when they get worn (should be a lot less frequent than an ICE car, some bolt owners go 100-150k+ without wearing through their first Original set!)
Relubricating the steering rack is a big preventative measure the factory grease separated and can cause longterm gradual failure and a repair that costs 3k
Replaced the knock sensors in my 02 suburban recently.
But seriously either a coolant or oil leak onto the exhaust. Valve cover gasket can leak oil and the coolant outlet from the engine is right there and breaks all the time on those things.
I have put 105,000 km on my 2020 Bolt in the last 2 years (I also live in NS). in that time, I have replaced the tires, a 12v battery and brake rotors
Never left me stranded besides a dead battery.
1950 brakes weren't very good even when they were new.
I just got the blazer ev, and within a month the brakes (pedal, not actual brakes) start making noise every time I pushed on them and the wind noise increased.
