I’ve installed a few of these and the only comment was that there was a slight amount of clutch chatter vs. stock.
Highly recommend them, and would choose them for any applicable use.
I have a Valeo kit in the Lemons race car that has lasted through 6 race weekends and a few track days so far. No issues at all, nothing but abuse. My e36 is a 318ti.
I love Valeo, its a french oem supplier and atleast with wipers, theyre awesome.

Valeo kit with SMF conversion is pretty cheap. I have it and love it so far.
Yesterday I replaced my 90A B brand alternator (thank you, previous 8 owners) with a Valeo 120 Amp unit. So far seems to be working fine with 14.15V to the battery at idle and with minimal or max power draw.
I bought a new Valeo alt cheap because this part was broke. After days os scouring the internet I found two sources, but the would NOT retail the part. They only supply rebuilders in bulk.
I got a Valeo flywheel. but it didn't fit.
Alternator is my wild guess: Valeo alternators have long sucked, kinda like their starter motors.
