In order to save money on my truck, I forced myself to learn how to replace an AC compressor on an F-150 with no mechanical background or knowledge whatsoever. 6 hours of cursing and labor later, I did it.
I went with gpd and the upgraded design this past summer and it fit as intended and works. I think it’s one of those “time will tell” situations.
I was lucky as no metal contamination was found in my system. $3100 of replacement later and I'm back on the road with the latest generation of compressor. Yay!
Oem is a Valeo brand compressor so if it's anything other than Valeo expect it to last less than 2 years , I went through 3 compressors in less than 2 years ( had warranty but got fed up with it ) and went with the oe replacement Valeo been 4 years now no issues

No major repair. Yung AC compressor kamakailan lang naging palyado at scheduled for replacement na at the same time buong AC system for checking.
An Amazon AC compressor is probably not a good choice. Denso and Valeo make the AC compressors for most auto manufacturers, these would be the only two I would consider for aftermarket replacement if available.
Second defective Denso. First one sent shrapnel through the whole system, and the whole system was replaced. This unit is under vacuum so it is only the clutch pulley turning.
Your Valeo AC compressor will be swapped out multiple times.
I’ve been back 3x already on the recall for the Valeo AC compressor along with rear defrost and front end issues. Oh my Jesus! I’m about ready to drive it to the dam junkyard.
AC broke two months ago. Service writer put it down as AC compressor internals seized. Still under warranty though.
