If you go with a new A/C compressor, do yourself a favor and get a complete kit that includes the compressor, condenser that goes in front of the radiator, receiver dryer, expansion valve or orifice tube, o ring kit, and pressure valve.
Owner reviews for AC compressor
our oldest car right now which is a 03 corolla altis na binili ng brand new, now with 230tkm mileage, no breakdowns, hanggang ngayon, orig paint, original ac compressor, ac condenser is still original, engine and automatic transmission was never rebuilt yet, alternator is still original, original ignition coil packs are just replaced recently kahit na hindi pa nasira, napagtripan lang na palitan na, factory injectors are just recently replaced, pero hindi rin sira yung original, fuel pump was replaced upon reaching 210tkm, pang ilalim lang napalitan after 220tkm, and ofcourse the normal wear and tear items. radiator, engine thermostat and water pump and radiator fan motor were replaced after reaching 200tkm. maliban dun wala na, yung mga sensors are still original, regular lang na nililinis. and nadadala pa sa kung saan saang pasyalan, now its already my son who drives the car on a daily basis
Denso is the OE for AC Compressor, at least for my F10. Never replaced it since new, just had to replace the magnetic clutch few months ago after 7 years. The AC specialist I went to (also worked on my E39), they also suggested Denso for my AC compressor because it is serviceable.
Our 2011 has 203K miles. We’ve had a starter go out, and we’ve replaced two A/C compressors, but that’s it. Doesn’t burn any oil. The most amazing thing is no squeaks or rattles from any of the interior panels after all those miles. This was my first-ever Honda, and it’s the best-built, most reliable vehicle I’ve ever owned.
my 2015 had the same exact AC issues. It would come and go cold air wise. I'd be on the highway and it would be blowing warm air. Another day it would be fine, etc. There ended up being a TSB out about the problem and Subaru replaced my AC compressor (back in 2015 or 2016) for free.
Have had decent luck with gpd through one of our local vendors. As a rule of thumb I always try to go new on a/c compressors (have had absolute shit luck with remanufactured with all brands, like2 out of 3 leaking within 12 months)
A/c compressor went out and I’m too cheap to fix it.
This is what the dealership put in my 2019 that also has the newer refrigerant type. These AC compressor seem to be a common failure...too bad GM won't ever do a recall.
I got a denso ac compressor from rock auto and it was leaking compressor oil in the box. I returned it, received a replacement and it was also leaking ac oil in the box.
She's replaced the compressor, condensor, AC recharged then a year or so later once again blowing hot air (we're in TX). Spoke to the mechanic right now & he said the compressor clutch is not kicking in because it's not receiving the ground signal from the engine computer.
