You want the very best you gotta go Honda blue.
Owner reviews for antifreeze
i use regular peak coolant, works fine
Nothin better than that OEM Honda
I've only ever used Prestone which works great and has never been an issue.
I use the Mercedes blue stuff. 3 years and zero growth or anything with it. Still quite clean.
I use febi or glysantil brands, haven't noticed any difference between cars.
I use Valvoline's Zerex Asian Blue prediluted, it works just as well.
I have always used OE pre mixed Subaru super blue coolant when I had to do any work on my cooling system. I bought my car new in 2013 and plan to keep it forever so I'm not trying to find out the hard way if the aftermarket stuff will be ok or not. The way I see it is, yes it's expensive for coolant, but how often do I actually buy it? Almost never. Even if you do the servicing as specified by Subaru, the stuff lasts a very long time. With that said, I did recently have to drain my coolant to replace the upper and lower hoses. My car has 176k miles on it now and the coolant was replaced not too long ago. So I got myself a clean aluminum pan to drain the coolant into to reuse it. It came out perfectly clean which means even after all those years and all those miles, there isn't a spec of corrosion or dirt in my cooling system. So I'm personally sticking with the stuff that helped keep it that way all these years
Now their Subaru coolant is in fact different ..... It has a head gasket "helper" in it . not that its saved my head gaskets... lol
Dexcool is for GM vehicles. There were problems with some of GM's vehicles, so I would avoid it. As a Volkswagen owner, I would not use Dexcool in those either. Do not waste your money on this GM crap!!
