Brake pads - $90 for parts
Owner reviews for brake pads
EBC makes great pads and discs. Have them on my NB and they've been solid for like two or three years now after the Brembos warped themselves.
I havent had an issue with them in 2 years.
The EBC RP-1 pads seem to have good road manners.
I'm using raybestos SP436ATRH for the pads and raybestos 96632FZN for the rotors. Been using them since January and have put about 6k on them, living in a really hilly area with my drums being basically useless because the shoes have been coated in gear oil due to an axle leak. I javent had any issues with brake fade or warping and I took them on a 2hr trip to west virginia from central ohio in March.
I took it out on a twisty road for about 40 miles, and did some hard stops. Seems to have resolved the issue. I read somewhere that these brakes need time for bed settling. I will say, they do stop impressively well. The factory stuff was underwhelming.
I have the performance pack, went with OEM rotors and EBC red stuff pads.
I installed EBC Yellowstuff pads and at first they squeeled every stop. 5K miles later it diminished substantially.
You'll need decent pads, and ones that can handle a car with a bit of weight behind it, think Pagid RSL29, Winmax W5 or Mintex 1166 if you're not going mad. You'll want to flush out your brake fluid and replace it with something that will take the heat as the tiny brakes on a 325i WILL overheat, its not a matter of if, its a matter of when, good fluid will stop you from boiling it and crashing!
I installed Stop Techs in my 2016 WRX at around 10,000kms. Didn't notice much difference. Hated them, squeked a bit when new. But they left brown dust on my nice clean gold rims and I hated that. Swapped the stockers back in and again didn't notice much difference in stopping, maybe i had to push slightly more to come to a stop. But so glad I don't have shit coloured brown front rims.
