OEM ceramic brake pads can last 60k to 90k miles.. But they're not that expensive if you change them yourself. Very easy on Mazda, best changed at about 50k miles of normal driving, before they wear too much more, to keep quality OEM rotors for longer.

Akebono makes great pads you really don't need factory parts when it comes to brakes. Honda factory rotors are notoriously prone to warping for innumerable reasons.
Looks just like the 2014 A6 c7 3.0 I purchased in sep 2025 same rims but it’s silver i bought mine with 63,000 miles I will be a supremely happy camper if I can get 200,000 miles my A6. It came with like new continentals new brakes new lower control arms / w receipt for 3k in glove box
I did power stop drilled slotted with carbon ceramic pads but I got the labor for a good deal , or if your handy they Work great and look nice .
The original discs/pads are an insane ripoff. They want something in the range of 600-700€ for a (front) set. I ordered a set from Brembo for ~260€. It felt the same.. No difference in how it felt/braked etc.
I do the minor maintenance myself: oil/filter, air filters, wiper blades.
I save enough $$ on the DIY portion, so I don't mind using my dealer for the other stuff: front & rear dif fluids, CVT fluid, brake fluid, brake pads, etc.
Last week front passenger brake began making a metal on metal grinding noise. Assumed it was brakes because this vehicle has been a frequent brake pad/rotor-replacee due to the mileage of the car. The brake pads were very low. Drove the car around for about 30mins today and no grinding noise BUT the front passenger was very hot and didn’t smell good.
after getting the calipers and repairing the threads and installing i noticed these brembo nao pads dont like to just slide into the calipers. Seems like the material on the outside of the pads is a little thick? Theres no debris or warping of that metal shim piece that I can eyeball. Is this common? Im reading alot of people sanding the outside edges to get them to slide in smoothly?
I also have squealing brakes when they are cold and reversing. When they're done, I'll have them replaced with good aftermarket brakes.
Only issues have been the insanely squeaky brakes, the sound quality on the speakers in the cold and crappy wipers.
