reinstall was a breeze. Good choice with the lemforder bushings

Next, I used dish soap as a lubricant (I had purchased silicon spray but I was advised to use dish soap by many people and it really seemed better). Now, this part is a little weird because initially, the bushing didn't want to slide in, it kept popping out. I pushed really hard and still, it popped out. On 3rd trial, I wiggled it as I pushed it and it slid right in, didn't need to use a hammer or anything like that, it was really really easy.
I fully refreshed my E39 [Sachs Sports, all 16 bushings] it drove like dream.
The cable setup on the mk7 is underwhelming in terms of feel. I added bushings and a metal bracket to tighten up the feel, and it's much better.
As suggested, do yourself a favor and replace worn bushings, otherwise you'll never get repeatable results. After replacing the bushings I was able to get it aligned for smooth shifting.
So far the suspension seems tighter and quieter so I am happy.
I knocked the old one out with just a wood block and an old wheel rotor under the control arm, and a metal screw top from an old shock to smack on the top edge of the bushing with a hammer. Drives nice
The Meyle HD's are a nice upgrade, since they would be less prone to tearing unlike the standard bushings... you don't feel too much difference in the steering though.
I did some research on Meyle and they have very bad reviews.
My 65 C10 had one. Not so fun when the bushings are shot and it pops out at light ,and you hold up traffic while you pop the hood.
