I have a 32/36 on my cabby. They all need a heat shield between the intake and exhaust manifolds, but all functioned well.

I have and run a weber 32/36 on a GTI JH motor in a caddy. Very reliable and plenty of power. I even run it with A/C. Everything is simple.

I've switched the factory carb [76 Rabbit] to a dual Weber DCOE set up. Fun to drive but a lot to keep running well.

I've run a Webber 32/36 on multiple 80s VWs, a Suzuki Samurai and a 280z they have been excellent and I would buy another one of the need comes up.

It's a Weber, meaning unless you can find a NOS Aisan carburetor for less than the usual armed robbery it's the best you can buy.

They've been making carbs since there have been carbs so unless their product quality has plunged since my days on the spanners it should be fine.

I recently swapped the solex carbs for Weber DCOEs for several reasons but mostly due to better parts and support here in the USA. As a learning process, I rebuilt them myself - so I am very aware of the float and needle operation.

my 1200cc engine also used to have an electric choke. my carb was a 28-PICT solex. then the throttle arm started leaking fuel, and there's no machine shop in our area who could fix the sleeve, so i bought a new solex 30/31 carb. it still runs good, but i miss the 28-PICT fuel miser...
