Super common issue on fits/jazz that haven't had the cvt fluid changed every 40k like the manual says to.. the start clutch causes the shudder.

I get my cvt serviced at the Valvoline center and I’ve had no issues with it
I have used Valvoline Synthetic CVT Fluid for years, and hundreds of thousands of miles, with no problems, at half the cost.
Did 3 drain and fills with Lucas CVT at 70-80k miles on my 2012 maxima. Noticeable difference after the first one. Much smoother no shudder more responsive.
Valvoline CVT fluid it's one of the best substitutes for the OEM Mitsubishi trans fluid.
I’ve used amsoil synthetic cvt fluid for years and never had any issues. Current Altima has 190k
200K on the Altima with AMSOIL CVT, 150K on the Rogue with AMSOIL CVT and wait for it....140K on the Pathfinder with AMSOIL CVT.
In the end, I did some research and found that it takes 4 qts to do a spill and fill, which is THE preferred maintenance procedure, at 60k miles/100k Kms, from Subaru. I then contacted AMSOIL directly, who said not only is their CVT fluid compatible with all CVTs, from 1 to 3 and HT, it was also Warranty Secured, both Manufacturer and Aftermarket. So, I did it myself. Took about an hour and used 4 quarts. I bought a $10 transfer pump. The warm-up/top-up procedure is easy peasy. And if I can do it, anyone can!
Both times I used valvoline universal cvt, ymmv yall but the fluid I drained was still very clear green and looked very nearly new, with very little browning and darkening, at 70k.
He should have known that that fluid is poor quality. I looked up the vehicles they claim it works in. That is a lot of vehicles with many different styles of CVT transmissions.
