I use this Castrol Edge 5w40 for 5 years already in my e46’s m54b30. No issues. Trying to stick to 10k km intervals.

In my e39 M54B30 473k km I am dumping Castrol Magnatec 5w-40.
Nothing to complain.
Mobil 1 Definitely. 0W20 in my 2023 Sonata Limited. 5W30 in my 2014 Sonata Limited.
I do my own oil changes. dexos is pretty much a quality certification standard and I use Mobil 1 Fully synthetic 0w-20. I did my first change at 1,5k then at 5k and will do one at 10k. I always replace the filter and I have a magnetic drain plug to collect shavings that may pass through the filter in case it ever is compromised.
Ive always used Mobil1 oil and filter and have 130k miles on my Veloster
I like Liqui Moly in my 2011 Jetta tdi but been really impressed with how smooth my car is running on Total quartz and been using that the last few changes. Total Quartz = smooth
I used OEM, Motul, and LiquiMoly oil. The only one that seemed to do anything with oil consumption was the LiquiMoly. I changed the oil every 5k miles and I had similar experiences as you until I did the LiquiMoly. Completely anecdotal, but I’m a believer. Been using it ever since.
Amsoil Z-rod. You need zddp or you can kiss your cam lobes good-bye.
I use Motul classic 20W-50 in all of mine, or some generic 20W-50 oil if I can't find it. If I'm not incorrect the classic has some additives to help with not seeping out of the engine but other than that won't do anything special.
I see a lot of people recommending lighter oils but living in a warm climate this is what works for me.
Mobil 1 - thins out a bit and there was quite a bit of consumption when I used this oil for my first change
