Rotella 15W-40. I put that shit in everything. My Yukon, my Fit, and all 3 motorcycles. It’s legit.
Owner reviews for engine oil
We used to commonly use Rotella in our heavily modified Mazdaspeed 3/6's to combat the same issue. It worked great and the only problem we ever had was with what we called the "black death".
I use total quartz. My tuner and other local shops that work on European cars highly recommend it.
I went with the Castrol Edge 0w-40 because it's a great oil with a good PAO content. It's also fairly inexpensive. I'll sacrifice the rebate on Mobil 1 as this oil seems to hold up better for my driving style over 10k miles.
Mobil 1 Synthetic. im at 291k mi. no internal engine repairs. drive i hard every day. i change about every 6k mi. along with factory filter.
I went with Liqui Moly 2332 Leichtlauf High Tech 5W-40 which meets 502 spec. This. German-made. 502 spec. You can get a jug of the stuff on Amazon for a good price. Been using it for over a year now.
Even though Amsoil produced the lowest wear numbers I'm using ultra platinum since I find that is what my car runs best on, engine is quieter than with amsoil or Mobil and velvety smooth.
Mobil 1 0w40 why? its the cheapest 502 rated oil I can find.
In our 2003 1.8T Passat, we use; Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic High Mileage 5w-30. Changed every 4000 miles. Because we made the change early, we have not had and engine oil sludge problem. The Passat now has 205k miles.
Redline 5w 40 since break-in, 254k miles later engine still going strong. Plenty of other repairs done, but no internal engine repairs required.
