I would use SR0407x Bosch starter. No bushing to worry about, more powerful, lighter, and uses less amps to crank over your engine. There is nothing negative about that starter.

Make sure the starter is a Bosch oem. I recently did mine
My daughters Sonata just did this exactly. Had to replace starter and now works great.
Try tapping on the starter with a hammer while trying to start. If this works you need a new started.
In our shop, my dad favors a high torque auto stick Bosch reman starter but I’m at home and can’t remember the exact part number. We use it on many standard and super beetles, ghias as well. It’s great for varying terrain.
I installed an OE Denso starter made in Japan. There the best for the 7.3
My almost stock winter beater has had minimal issues minus exhaust and front end which goes just because the wear and tear. Replaced the original starter last year and alternator a couple weeks ago.
Nippon denso. NGK ,AC Delco would be the top three. Stay away from Cardone they suck as well as most part stores house brands.
Volkswagen did something similar with the starters on the 70's/80's Rabbit -- They installed it mere inches from the exhaust, which led to premature solenoid failure. I installed a solenoid bypass button and mounted it under the dash after the 3rd starter replacement in 5 years.
I have a 2015 chevy malibu still within warranty. Two weeks ago the car would not start, brought it to dealer and had the starter replaced for $750, but they refuse to cover it with the powertrain warranty from factory.
