KYB for firmer sportier feel, and more durable
Owner reviews for strut assembly
I have used Monroe and KYB. Both work equally well.
Go with KYB if you’re not going OEM.
I’m lowered 1.5 inches and I have KYB foxbody struts, cost me $130 for all four and it rides great
I ran KYB struts in the front of my sedan. It’s been about 3-4 years now and no problems. They still feel strong and confident and I live with Pennsylvania potholes lol
I just installed the N3 loaded struts from Rough Country yesterday. Went out for a test drive afterwards and drove the truck to and from work today. Truck handles so much better than OEM shocks/struts. They are much softer and feel more “planted.” BUT, my OEM shocks were pretty bad. I’m sure a suspension setup north of $1k would ride better than this setup. But for $330, this setup is well worth it and is a night and day difference.
KYB struts are reputable but they aren't known for being softer. I also know of issues with the easy strut assemblies causing clunking sounds.
I have 2013 accord cp and replaced all four struts from monroe (oespectrum) with the stock spring. The ride is comfortable but the suspension feels abit busy on harsher road conditions.
I keep using Monroe quick struts because they're the cheapest option that isn't complete garbage but I usually come to regret it.
I bought monroe quik struts (wholesaler closeout) Left side was hitting the inner wheel well, spring was wider than the other.
