I have a 2015 OB, just surpassed 200k. This car has gone coast to coast, up to the Great Lakes, across to PA, through the desert, everywhere, all for DOG SHOWS and sports. The past 6 weeks I had two trips to TN, one to MO, and one to KY. It has hair in it that’ll never get out again, but I bought this vehicle to haul them as well as equipment and people. Worst thing to happen to it is my AC went out this year (I live in Texas) and I had to get a new compressor for it.

Pros: reliable, good for hauling
Cons: AC went out
Vehicle: Subaru Outback
Mileage: 200000 km

Bought Denso from rockauto. It is made in Japan. Be sure to replace the condenser and txv. And flush the lines before installing. For best results. Then forget about Ac for the times ahead.

Pros: reliable, good results

COO was Japan on the Denso I ordered from RA. Likely the same exact thing as OE Lexus, with a different sticker.

Pros: same as OE Lexus

Denso AC compressor

I’ve always used Denso and have never had any issues, but I’ve noticed that depending on car they’re sometimes noisy. Like they make a hum sound that’s distinguishable from the usual hum of an AC system.

Pros: no issues, reliable
Cons: sometimes noisy, hum sound
Vehicle: Honda S2000

my 2015 had the same exact AC issues. It would come and go cold air wise. I'd be on the highway and it would be blowing warm air. Another day it would be fine, etc. There ended up being a TSB out about the problem and Subaru replaced my AC compressor (back in 2015 or 2016) for free.

Pros: replaced for free under TSB
Cons: intermittent cold air, blowing warm air
Vehicle: Subaru

Sadly it appears it was a POS, because it's now leaking and we have to replace again. Any reason why a compressor would crap out after about 16 months?

Cons: leaking, failed quickly
Part number: 471-1618

I’ve been waiting for an AC compressor since April and every month the date got pushed back more. I called various dealers they didn’t have it one of the dealers told me the order has been back ordered for 6 months already. I had an extended warranty and they replaced with an aftermarket part. A denso as well. Took 3 months to get my car back from the dealer. They also charged 6k for complete unit. Mind you my pilot is a 2020 with only 26k miles.

Cons: long wait time, high cost
Vehicle: Honda Pilot
Mileage: 26000 km

Right at 5k miles the AC Compressor stopped working. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the Compressor. 3 weeks later, 5,600 miles, hot air blower out the vents again. Again they replace the Condensor, Compressor. All under warranty... 4 AC Compressors. When we got rid of it in 2019, the APP and the AC stopped working for the 4th time.

Cons: repeated failures, stopped working
Mileage: 5000 km

I bought a Denso unit last year for my Honda, the first one that came out of the box from Rockauto the plastic connector was broken, replaced with the same one and the Denso AC only lasted for like 8 months. This is bulls**t

Cons: plastic connector broken, only lasted 8 months
Vehicle: Honda
