Alternator Denso or VALEO
I went with a reman denso and it's been a while but I swear I remember reading the remans were better than new.
Only only only get oem alternator. They won’t last otherwise. I believe the brand is denso. Other brand only lasted 3 months in mine.
Get the denso reman. Most reasonable option vs buying a new denso at the dealer. Main difference is no Honda logo otherwise absolutely identical.
Denso reman if you don't want to do this job again.
Replacement is absolutely fine as an option, but I recommend going with a genuine brand as originally specced for the vehicle (Denso, AC Delco etc). Some aftermarket brands like Jaylec (just an example of brand, not quality) aren't built to the same standard and can be underpowered.
Both Valeo and Bosch are good brands. I’ve never owned a Mercedes, but both Valeo/Bosch are installed in various BMWs from the factory.
Denso, nippon, aisin are the only brands you should be looking at for an acura.
DIY Guy here, I always use Denso parts for my Hondas when it comes to electrical stuff. Denso is the OEM parts supplier for Honda's alternators. I just replaced an alternator in my sister's 2011 Acura RDX with a remanufactured Denso unit and she's had no problems with it at all.
Just make sure to buy either new OEM, used OEM, or a good rebuild like Denso. Parts store ones have a bad record of either being bad directly out of the box, or crapping out in short order.
The indy shop I used diagnosed it as a bad alternator; I am so lucky ( s a r c a s m ) to have the Valeo (mega $$$$$) unit, they swapped it out a week later.
