  • Uneven wear:

Ok, so i got them fitted yesterday. I used the following: - caliper carripers from Epytec for the cayenne zr18 caliper for mk4 : http://www.epytec.de/modelle/vw/gol...achse/1293/adapter-porsche-bremssattel-audi-tt-a3-vw-golf-4-polo-9n-bora?c=1250 - braided brake hoses from Epytec for porsche calipers: http://www.epytec.de/kategorien/bre...ng-vw-golf-4-r32-audi-a3-s3-a1-porsche-brembo-ttrs-polo-9n-bremsen-umbau?c=1730 - regular ATE brake pads - EBC R32 Brake discs - Porsche Cayenne ZR18 calipers I ended up having to put my 20mm spacers from the back wheels to the front, because the 10mm ones didn't clear the caliper. The epytec hardware is really good quality stuff, comes with all necesary german TUV paperwork to be able get the brakes \"registered\". I drove a total of 10 miles, and as a first impression, the pedal is kind of spongy and goes down pretty low. I will definitely look into upgrading to a 25.4mm M/C. I will let you guys know more after the brakes get seated in properly and do a really good brake bleeding to a better brake fluid.

Pros: good quality hardware, good stopping power
Cons: spongy pedal, goes down low
Mileage: 10 km

I did the Brembo 18Z(Touareg/Cayenne/Q7 calipers) on mine. It wound up being relatively cheap, less than $1000, but I used normal powerslot slotted rotors not 2 piece fancy rotors. They were relatively cheap and look awesome. Wheel clearance is a MAJOR issue, finding wheels to clear with anywhere near stock offset is very hard. They do NOT have bias issues that some people complain about when putting them on other MKV and MKVI cars, I would say my car brakes in a very balanced way.

Pros: relatively cheap, look awesome
Cons: wheel clearance is issue

  • Uneven wear:

I'd go with Porsche calipers on stock rotors, which is what I run. MUCH improved pedal feel and modulation, ability to swap pads without taking the caliper off, and more pad options.

Pros: improved pedal feel, modulation

  • Uneven wear:

I've got an Audi A4 Quattro that I DD, Autocross and teach HPDE ( Track Days ). Originally I tried the TT carrier / A8 rotor (312mm ) upgrade. I later switched to Porsche Boxster calipers because I was getting pad taper on Track Days.

Pros: stiffer, reduces pedal travel
Cons: pad taper on track days
Vehicle: Audi A4

I run TT rotors with Boxster calipers. I like this setup very much. Brake pedal is a little firmer than stock and they are easy to modulate on the street.

Pros: firmer brake pedal, easy modulate
Cons: harder to obtain, cost more
Vehicle: Ford Escape

  • Smell/heat:

No fade at all (overheating is no longer an issue). For the first time the brake pedal feels like the gas pedal. You just touch it and it slows down a bit, you gently step on it and it slows you down, you press harder and it slows you even faster, etc. Finally, believe it or not, ABS kicks in rarely!! (not the case with OEM brakes). My opinion is that this is a very wise setup, not \"ricey\", very effective and a top value for money .

Pros: no fade at all, top value
Vehicle: Audi S4
