Brake discs Brembo or Duralast
replaced rotors and pads on my 11' 460. The price difference between grinding and getting new rotors was pretty small so i just bought new gear. Ended up going with the duralast gold rotors which are nice because they have a coating so they don't rust. After about a year and a half, i'm still happy with everything.
I put Brembo rotors and pads on my mk5. I like them. The coated rotors are great. No more rust on the non-friction surfaces.
I recently installed Brembo rotors and pads on my ‘14 Mazda 6. Under $400 on tire rack. The performance is great so far; they bite harder than OEM and are quiet with low dust.
I have the same, good feel, stopping power is ridiculous. Careful in the wet though, they really don't like it.
New Brembo front rotors. New StopTech brake pads at 75k miles
Get thicker ones (5.5mm). I also warped my stock ones and got Brembo supersports instead, I feel like they withstand whatever I throw at them.
My OEM Calipers are still looking good at 200k. I just put OEM pads and Brembo Rotors for less than 200 bucks. Next time I will be doing the 199 Caliper and Rotor Upgrade.
on my SELP with 18K miles, the rear rotors were pulsating and shuddering at high speeds and I know exactly what caused it, coming over a mountain pass, but NOT riding the brakes. Anyway, the disc surafces looked ok but 2/3 of the pads had gone. Changed out with Pagid pads and Brembo rotors - we’ll see how that goes. BTW removing the caliper is a PITA the triplle hex bolts were are very very tight. On my SE with 38k miles front pads were down to last remaining 1mm…. Yeah I should have checked them a while back. Both front rotors on both cars are heavily grooved, but no signs of deposits. Put Pagid pads in the fronts. On the SE I have just ordered Brembo cross drilled rotors for the rear. I thought I would just share this info and given more evidence of how these Arteon’s eat pads and rotors wear wise and are easy to distort.
I now have the same problem and know exactly how it happened, came over a long downhil mountain pass (NOT riding the brakes by the way) and later went to brake shudder/vibration from the rear. I have two new rear Brembo rotors and Pagid pads for a fun job on a car thats only done 18K miles. I think its the rear brake design is flawed from this standpoint
I did the fronts with "Duralast." They produced a HORRIBLE shudder when braking. I replaced them with the same this and the issue was the same. So, I bought OEM pads/rotors and the issued COMPLETELY went away.
