Brake discs Brembo or EBC
I've had the EBC reds up front with the larger A8 rotors. No dust, no vibrations and they have lasted a long time.
Cost me $260 (parts and labor) to have the 4 Brembo rotors installed and the brakes are working great again. I think I am partially to blame for not bedding the pads properly.
I have their drilled discs on my TR6. My dream was Ceriani, forks with disc brakes, I still have a new brembo caliper. They are and were a status item.
For daily use, go for brembo blanks on your rotors. Oem pads are great for that initial bite but HORRIBLE on dust. I would go for akebono ceramic pads. They need a little more time to be warmed up but they’re great imo. Hardly any dust, super quiet, and they do just fine on my occasional canyon runs.
On the other one i just pulled the trigger on ebc slotted rotors And the red stuff pads.
Pagid RS42 + EBC Ultimax discs + braided brake lines
I put Brembo Sport rotors with EBC Red Stuff pads and ATE TYP200 brake fluid. Works great.
Got these on my Corolla, they're actually good for reasonably cheap brakes.
The stock front rotors have fairly significant heat spots and slight warping. I do mostly spirited street driving with some track use but obviously heat dissipation has been an issue, given how hefty the car is. Looking to upgrade the rotors and pads to more performance oriented options while hoping to keep the level of noise and dust relatively low.
I've been running EBC rotors for a few years now. They are very loud when braking. Sounds kinda like a rattlesnake. I drive with my windows down alot, so I hear it. I probably won't ever get the EBC again.
