Brake discs POWER STOP or Raybestos
A few years ago, I put PowerStop front rotors and pads, and pad slapped the rears on my buddy's 2011 One Hundrert n' Fitty (and flushed his brake fluid and replaced it with DOT4 synthetic). He said it was the best braking feel and performance he's ever had in the truck, and he bought it with 6 miles on the odometer and had pads done previously. He's still using the same stuff, too, rotors are still well within spec several years later.
I put power stops on 02 tree. Good brakes and rotors, nice and quiet
I did a full set of powerstop fully coated brakes on my car last fall. Ive been happy with them
I used powerstop rotors and pads and I used TRQ calipers. Powerstop calipers were backordered at the time. They're all just refurbished calipers that are powder coated so I don't think brand is that important for the calipers anyway.
I literally put these on my 2018 last Sunday and they feel great so far. Broke them in as instructed and they have been smooth riding. Took me about 2 hours taking my time and bleeding the brakes
I’ve been running Powerstops front & rear on our Touring since 2021 and they are still braking solid without any issues. I think proper break in procedure is important and this is just a daily. No track or auto crossing. But they panic stop wonderfully and predictably with zero chatter or pull.
Yeah I just put those on last week and they work great, smooth braking and overall more stopping power
I've had them in my truck for 2-3 years. Through many miles and tons of off-road time (and some very harsh wheeling) on desert and alpine trips, they've held up just fine. The only time I had an issue was when coming down a very long, steep grade (Sonora Pass in the California Sierra Nevada) with about 1,200 lb of cargo in the truck. I started getting some pretty nasty fade and had to pull over for about 20 mins to wait for everything to cool down. That being said, the same exact thing would have happened with any near-stock-size pad+rotor setup, so it's not a fault of the product itself.
Do not go cheap. I even tried the top-of-the-line products house brand from AutoZone and advance auto parts. The front rotors warp in three to 6 months even their premium products. I struggled with this for years trying to figure out what it was. I switched to Raybestos element 3 problem solved. Do not go cheap on the front.
I’d get the plain discs instead… drilled rotors tend to crack and slots will chew away your pads…!
