Brake pads Akebono or OEM Honda
I decided to replace the pads with Akebonos. Following the installation of the rear pads only, I pumped the brakes 3x’s and both me and my brakes got hard. :-)
akebono are very good ceramic pads. i recently bought them (proact) and centric gcx rotors for a brake job. very good and long lasting setup from what i know.
Akebono pads and Raybestos rotors
not an srt but I prefer Akebono pads, just did wagner rotors but there are plenty of brands.
Pretty cheap for what you get. They last long.
They’re ok, never had a problem with this brand.
Best pads out there IMO. I've only put them on my car for the last 200k km. I'm due to change them for the 3rd time in the spring lol (90% highway driving)
I had aftermarket front brakes installed by a local mechanic for around $300. They ended up squeaking constantly and just didn’t feel right. I eventually had them redone with genuine Honda brakes at the dealership — it cost me $575, but the difference was night and day. No noise, smooth feel, and it came with a 12-month warranty.
Stock rotors and pads. Akeboko pads if I’ve been particularly annoyed by brake dust, but that’s an ebb/flow with how busy I am with life, work, and kids and how often I’m detailing.
I recently replaced my rear brake pads with Akebono proact pads. The issue is when I go around 40 mph and break with a little force, I hear this loud noise coming from the rear. Sounds like the brake pads and trying to stop the rotor and not being successful. I never had aftermarket brakes on my car before but OEM brakes had no issues.
