Brake pads EBC or Hawk Performance
2000% go with the HH EBC Brake pads. Immediate feel, much better progressive brakes. You won't believe the difference in feel and confidence.
I put hawk street 5.0 pads on mine a few months ago. They are good, def better than oem.
Hawk HPS pads are a massive performance improvement over stock pads, with a more linear break feel (aka less initial bite). low dust, low noise, highly reliable.
I've been using EBC red ceramic pads on all my GP's. Never once had fitment issues and they're low dust and no squeaks. Bought some oe spec stoptech ones once and replaced them a few months later because they were too dusty.
I have the Hawk HPS and they're a little less initially bitey but seem to stop just as well when I put the brakes on, which is nice for a daily.
I did ebc red stuff and some slotted and drilled rotors. Honestly I have to recommend it I love the hard bite if I hit them hard.
Massive step up from the OEMs assuming proper break-in. Since the car is just a daily, I can testify for the EBC Red pads with stock rotors. Been a year now and I feel like you truly need nothing else than this combo for the streets. Noise is minimal after break in period
I track mine with ebc yellow and blanks. I just bought another set from them. They sell kits. A few hundred total front and rear. Use plenty of brake lube on the backing plates or the squealing will be insane! If just street use, red is plenty good.
I went with the APR rotors and EBC Yellow pads all around, which are supposedly track oriented. The rotors are good, but remember that any type of slotted or drilled rotors will be hard on pads than smooth rotors. EBC Yellows are the recommended pads for light track use. I did two track days and put on about 5k miles. The pads are slow to grab on the street, meaning that they need to warm up before heavy braking.
I am always happy using the cheapest ceramic pads I can find and the cheapest rotors I can find, no matter what car its going on. I have expensive Hawk Performance Ceramic on my STI and they're actually worse than the cheap stuff. Tons of dust and even some noise.
