Brake pads EBC or Tesla
Front Big Brake Kit, 17z front brake calipers, 330mm x 32mm rotors, EBC redstuff pads
I have about 400 street miles and 100 track miles on my set. Noise is practically non existence. Dust is much less than stockers. They have less (much less) cold bite compared to stock. I got scared the first week or so I put them on, but after awhile, I think I've adjusted and don't think too much of it. When heated up, they do bite more than stock and give very linear and predictable feel. I was pleasantly surprised they performed pretty consistent after repeated hard breaking from 115 to 40ish at track. I limited my sessions to only 20 mins or so per session and ambient was only in the low sixties. So that helped. For longer sessions and harder use, I would probably go for something else. Also note, I ran stock pads at the same track and same driving style and they literally crumbled.
The yellows are claimed to be a 50 50 Track and street but honestly you could only get about a weekend out of pure track use ... really no noise after the first 50 miles .. dust isn't too bad either .. it's there but they don't cake like track pads do. Very minimal fade too , I did 8 100-10 stops and felt it in the pedal still ... though they were glowing a bit
Currently running yellow stuff and their slotted rotors all around on my 16 SE . Honestly for the money they are the best pad I've ever used. Once you get through the bed in cycle they will put you through the windshield...
I've run Red Stuff for five years. I definitely recommend for stopping power and low dust.
I had red stuff on my old A4. Had no complaints.
I've got Red Stuff on all 4 corners. Quiet, near zero dusting and very good pedal feel.
One really good thing about EBC pads is that they have the break in compound on them. If your rotors are not bad enough to make the brake pedal pulse, the pads will refinish the rotors with the compound. It will take the shine off and give the rotors a freshly machined surface without actually having them turned! After installing the pads, to my surprise, my rotors were COMPLETELY pulse free after a little break-in time!!!
I thought about changing the pads to EBC but I am not really sold on that brand.
Don't buy EBC greens for the van. I put a full set on and the van has horrible braking performance before the pads heat up, which we almost never do. Cold pad performance is almost dangerous. Get something with more initial bite.
