Brake pads Ferodo or Mintex
I liked the ferodo street pad a lot. I got mine used from potterman when I bought the brakes from his one lap car. They had great initial bite and did farely well on track. They would start to get overworked towards the end of a session but they are street pads. They dust a lot just like the 2500s.
NEW Mintex front 10.1 brake pads $45 NEW Mintex rear 9.4 brake pads $20
I run audio TT front rotors (12.3 instead of 11.3), aggressive pads (ferodo DS2500) and racing brake fluid (motul rbf 600) and even on the track where you have to do some high speed stops (125-45) I havent really seen much brake fade.
I have the ECS stage1 fronts with mintex C-Tech racing pads and R32 vented rears with stock pads, Super Blue fluid. At summit point Shennedoah circuit which is pretty hard on brakes, I experienced NO fade at all. The pads maintained impressive bite lap after lap, even during one 40 minute session.
I'm running OEM rotors and calipers with Ferodo DS2500 frt/Hawk HPS rear and ATE superblue fluid. The brakes held up great. But then coming out of Turn 2, I accelerate to about 90 before hitting the brakes again going on a steeper downhill to slow to about 30mph. This is where I feel a touch of fade.
I'm running the same stuff too. Mintex Redbox pads. Like them alot. Feels alot better when stopping.
I have had great success running the Ferodo DS2500 on the rear of the car.
If you adjust the regulator spring too tight, or you lower the car without releasing the additional tension that put on the regulator spring, the rear wheels will lock up. If you have it adjusted really close to the limit for your rear wheels (for optimum braking) and you upgrade the rear pads to Ferodo DS2500 and keep the Mintex Red Box pads on the front axle, you might also get rear wheel lockup because the total braking force at the rear wheels increases by 50% or so with that pad upgrade, and the front doesn't get a similar increase in grip.
I've got some Mintex to throw in there but I keep putting it off because the Bentley makes it sound like theres some complicated poop involved, I even bought the special tool does anyone have a link with an easier how-to on this?
Not amazed by my mintex pads either but i havent tried anyhing else- all i can say is that i thought they would have made a bigger difference.
