Brake pads Ferodo or STOPTECH
I'm running Ferodo DS 1.11. and they're fine on the streets even during winters when it gets even as cold as -25C
I got their vented rear and front rotors (Girodiscs) with stock calipers and Ferrodo DS2500 pads all around. For a stock powered car they work great at VIR. I have done 2 sessions there now and braking is pretty decent. On the street this combo will never fade period. The rears overheat which overload the fronts and cause issues. Rears overheating also causes the wheel bearings to go out so getting vented rears is just smart.
Ferodo DS2500 are a classic high performance street pad, every time I go through a set I am sure something better must have come along and do some market research, always end up back on the DS2500´s as an everday/occasional track pad. They are cheap and they last forever (really) relative to punishment taken, they are dusty though, that´s really my main issue with them.
It's a solid pedal feel.
To me it looks like brake pad material on your rotors due to your street pads melting. Slap a new set a cheap pads on there from Autozone or something and drive it for a week or two that material should come off. As long as you don’t have vibration while braking they should still be good. Just make sure to use track pads next time. I personally run StopTech 309 pads because they’re good on track and street
I got Stoptech Sport pads that I've used on track and street for many years.
If you can't find ceramic pads, get Ferodo Premium Eco Friction.
Previous discs and pads were OEM and the new ones are Ferodo. As mentioned previously, the sound was there with the OEM parts as well.
I track the car and use the DS2500 pads with DOT 4 brake guild. Let me tell you this from personal experience, the stock pads fade real quick. After 2 sessions or so (15mins sessions), the brakes get real spongy.
I put some Ferodo DS2500s for a HPDE event at the end of July and noticed discoloration and crumbling on the edges. Swapped them out with PFC08s for this weekend’s HPDE and noticed chunks of material missing from the inner of the pad.
