Brake pads Mintex or OEM KIA
I changed my wife's KIA Soul pads at 60k miles. Used OEM pads. Checked a month or two ago and they were still halfway through. She is at 200k miles.
I used Mintex 1144 on my MK7.5 ST. Were great for fast road and some Nurburgring laps in a year.
Adam's front and rear ventilated rotors. Mintex front and rear brake pads. Motul DOT 5.1 Synthetic brake fluid. Goodridge G - Stop stainless steel braided brake lines.
I have a 2015 Kia Soul I bought new. In over 9 years, not a single thing has gone wrong with it - no repairs of any kind. Just oil, brakes and tires.
Lastly, I had the well-known brake pad deposit problem on the rotors, which over time (about 5-6k miles for me) would cause the steering wheel and car to shake a bit when breaking, similar to the feeling you get when the rotors are warped. I had the rotors cut once, then all four rotors and pads replaced, and then the front rotors were replaced again. As many other Stinger owners online have said, once they replaced the stock rotors and pads with a good set of aftermarket rotors and pads, or some even just machining their stock rotors and getting new aftermarket pads, that seems to have solved the issue for them.
The rotors/brake pads are notoriously bad. The oem pads leave uneven deposits on the rotor. Causes shaking while braking. Ive replaced rotors twice. Got better pads and drilled and slotted rotors. No issues since.
As stated, installed new Mintex front pads and I believe I installed correctly. rattle only occurs when not braking, when brakes applied immediately disappears.
those are worse then stock.
stay away from mintex red box. i have them.. the stop great.. but they are the dustiest and noisest pad I have ever installed.
I have some noise from the mintex pads as well. Im switching them all out soon.
