Brake pads Raybestos or Hawk Performance
I use hawk ceramic compound strictly for the low dust. I autocross several times a year, which is way different than a day of 20 minute hot lap sessions, but I have noticed no discernible difference in performance. Just exponentially less dust on my rims.
I have 150+k on my MK7.5 GTi. I’ve run Hawk pads and rotors since the OEM brakes came off. They are great. Fronts are slotted and drilled, rears are slotted, no noise, brake dust isn’t bad.
Using hawk ceramic on mine. Seem alright for the street use I do. Way less dust than OEM.
Hawk Performance PC, they work very well and hardly any dust. Just a little squeaky when cold tho.
And put full timing chain service -cam chain (chain, guides, tensioner), VVT cam adjuster, vacuum pump, cam follower, high pressure fuel pump rebuild, vvt spring seals(viaco and uro)\ncomplete timing belt kit with water pump and idler pullies, new brakes all around(raybestos pads and rotors) , new spark plugs and coils(Bosch and ngk), valve cover gasket, PCV replacement(new diaphragm and hoses), new cabin filter, new air filter, new fuel filter. and all fluids just done.
Then replace the pads with Hawk performance ceramic pads.
These cars are notorious for eating rear brakes. The pads are just so small. I get Raybestos on Rockauto.
I run Hawk HP Plus on DBA rotors, but I also sound like a school bus stopping. Doesn\u2019t bother me, but they\u2019re on the louder slide.
I installed raybestos and having so many issues with them already feeling warped and noisy brakes.
I get less than one race out of Hawk Blue. Had to replace at around 28 hours.
