Cabin filter Mann or K&N
To make things easier, I put a K & N cabin filter in so I don’t have to replace it every year. I need to clean it as it’s due.
Using the reg of a 2015 MK7 golf I used to own, you can get a MANN cabin filter for £20 (high quality top end, can get much much cheaper), and they’re super easy to replace yourself (2mins).
I put a K&N cabin filter and it's been going strong, wash it out and dry, goes back in and still smells fresh.
I bought a K&N cabin air filter. I wash it in my bath tub. Dry it. Take some spray oil I made myself with essential scented oils, rubbing alcohol, and glycerine. Spray it on. Let it sit for 5 minutes in the sun. Pop right in. Completely fine.
just went to autozone and forked out for the K&N, and holy shit it was worth it. Like night and day on the airflow. I can actually feel it on my face now, lol.
The Mann Frescious Plus ones are really good. But they are hard to find sometimes. I’ve also done well with the OEM one from VW. I’d avoid the WIX one. The charcoal is not well contained in the filter and it blows through the vents into the cabin and gets all over everything.
In addition, replaced air filter and cabin filter with Mann products at approx. 10,000 miles.
Mann carbon activated filter is the best OEM
K&N also makes a washable cabin air filter, although it’s a b@$&; to clean.
I just bought a K&N one from work and put it in. Most difficult 2:43 of my life.
