Clutch kit Sachs or VALEO
If stock or mild performance gains, take the m20 flywheel and a stock m20 sachs clutch kit (bmw always sachs) and it will hold up very easily. They can hold way more torque than they are advertised for and last forever if not clutchkicked to hell.
I used sachs in the past with no issues.
I have this in my GTI. It's great.
Having sold many OEM Sachs and Luk clutch kits, I noticed pressure plate rivets are slightly taller on modified pressure plates from many major clutch tuning brands.
I have done a couple of Mini clutches and I bought a new DMF and a stock clutch kit. I believe they were either Sachs or LUK clutch kits from FCPEuro.
I recently got and installed the Valeo hd clutch kit. So far it’s been awesome, it feels just like stock and it even doesn’t make that common ticking noise that comes with aftermarket clutches.
I've had it for the last two months and for me it was definitely a cheaper option to the oem kit. I've liked it so far, it kept up well on the only short trackday I did yet. in traffic it becomes a little bit more un-smooth than the oem, but still works well and maybe it's just a feeling, but it picks up revs faster.
I’ve installed a few of these and the only comment was that there was a slight amount of clutch chatter vs. stock.
Highly recommend them, and would choose them for any applicable use.
I recently had my 2011 Smart Fortwo 451 (1.0 turbo) serviced to replace the clutch and actuator, and I wanted to share my experience. What We Replaced: -Clutch kit (Sachs, OEM) -Clutch actuator (OEM). The old clutch was clearly worn, and the release bearing was almost failing. However, the dual-mass flywheel seemed fine, with no excessive play or noise. After installing everything, the mechanic performed the clutch re-adaptation with a scanner. I finally got my Smart Fortwo 451 (1.0 turbo) back on Friday after replacing the clutch and actuator, and I can definitely feel a big difference. Here are a few things I’ve noticed: 1. Gear changes feel slightly smoother. 2. Weird air sound when accelerating in first gear. 3. The car seems eager to shift but sometimes unnecessarily downshifts.
Your clutch only lasted 2.5 years?Either you have poor driving habits or maybe you need to buy a better clutch kit
