Engine oil IDEMITSU or OEM FORD
You’ll be fine, idemitsu is a bit of a rotary specialist when it comes to fluids
The 2.3 liter engine on a ford ranger takes 6.2 quarts as opposed to my corolla that took less than a gallon for the 1.8 liter engine.
My Ford Freestyle with a 3.0L takes 6 quarts, while my Pontiac Grand Prix with a supercharged 3.8L takes 4.3 quarts. Go figure. I was shocked when I saw how much oil the Ford takes.
my 2011 ford fusion oil cap has 5w-20 but when i put that oil, engine noise become loud. Only 10w-30 noise is lower and engine smooth.
I think Idemitsu is the better option if you have access to it. Mostly because it was developed for the rotary engine.
Idemitsu to both, because it’s designed and tested on rotaries.
I use idemitsu rotary 20w50
I stick to Idemitsu. I have a Sohn adapter fitted, so it's 10-30 Idemitsu in the engine, twice a year and Idemitsu Premix in the Sohn adapter and in the fuel tank.
On a side note, if anyone really wants to see what their oil change interval should be, just get an actual oil sample analysis done. Per the lab reports, I can get 8k miles on quality synthetics and still have a good safe margin for oil life.
I have a 19 xlt. Love it except for the oil issue.
