Engine oil Mobil or LIQUI MOLY
Mobil 1 in all my vehicles recently. Basically only because it’s cheap on Amazon. Always paired with a Wix XP filter though
I have a 2012 Camry all 10k oil changes running Mobil one exclusively and it burns no oil with 270k miles.
I use the Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 which is synthetic *and* meets JASO, just because it is always available at the nearby Walmart.
I use M1 5-30 because I've ran it in well over a dozen cars and beat on all of them without issue, and it's only $28 for a gallon jug at walmart. I also run liqui moly ceratec to silence the typewriter tick it developed around 35k.
The recommended Castrol isn't bad, but I've had better success with Mobil1 and Liquid Moly.
Try using liqui moli engine oil, change the air filter too.
I recall mobil1 going red being normal.
After completing the 1000 km run in and going through the first service where I got Cepsa xtar 10w40 oil, the gearbox remained hard, compared to my previous F650 bmw.
Did some digging regarding engine oil and how I could improve my gear shifting experience, engine smoothness and durability and the choice was either Motul 7100 or LiquiMoly Street Race 10w40. Decided on Liqui Molly and definitely I am noticing much smoother gear shifts and maybe even less vibration. I am surprised. The change is definitely noticeable.
My ‘15 Golf Sportwagen ate a quart Mobil 1 between oil changes. Not the case for LM.
I used Liqui Moly 10 40 for my 3vzfe 96 camry. The car started making a horrible ticking noise coming from the valve cover. Its at 225k miles. The engine runs good but noise is annoying.
