Engine radiator MISHIMOTO or OEM Volkswagen
For a good external oil cooler setup, check out www.tdnparts.com I'll be going that route along with a mishimoto aluminum radiator this winter.
i have a mishimoto radiator and it works just fine
Regarding our 1997 Jetta GLS that we've had since it was brand-new, I was topping off the original G11 with G12+ since about 2000, without any problems. A few years ago we had the radiator replaced, and the coolant was all changed out to G12 -- that is, the current G12.
That tool is a god send! Unrelated, but burping a radiator sucks too.
I'm planning on spending $710~ on a Mishimoto FULLY sealed radiator (no stupid plastic side tanks).
The radiator does cool the DSG so I feel the Mishimoto radiator was definitely worth it.
So, I have the Mishimoto rado, which I bought for my Mk3 but now I'm transplanting it all into my Mk2. That's why I'm asking.
If your going to use a fox radiator becareful cause it will hang pretty low. I ought one and thought it will work but it sits really low if you just drive on streets it should be ok, but mine is a track car so I was worried about going off and possibly hitting it on somehting and causing some problems.
Mishimoto radiators aren’t the best. IIRC, a lot of their stuff comes the same factory as a lot of eBay brands.
Wouldn’t recommend mishimoto, the warranty is nice but some of them tend to be leaky (haven’t just read that online, have seen multiple leak firsthand).
