Fuel filter OEM Volkswagen or Mahle
New stuff i attended to. checked cleaned and pull apart the Warm up regulator. Was not clogged or dirty. worked fine. replaced the fuel filter, which i did notice was a little crummy. but normal.
Third filter change for me and not a trace of metal was found in the fuel filter reservoir. I plan to drive the car to approximately 75-80K depending on what I'm at in late 2018.
Last item on my service list to change was my fuel filter. The one on there was changed recently and for a genuine one. But for peace of mind and so I know when next due I changed it anyway and used the correct jubilee clamp.
I changed the fuel filter, oops, that was a mess, but once I got all the air out of the system it's running great again.
I really didn't think changing the fuel filter in my GLI would make much difference, particular seeing as the fuel inside the old filter looked perfectly fine. But wow, after a couple days, what a difference. I'd had some slowly-worsening issues with throttle response, particularly at low speed -- starting from a stop while engaging the clutch, or accelerating at low speed in gear. The car would bog a bit and then surge, unless I modulated the clutch and gave more throttle than I really should. Those problems immediately went away after the fuel filter change. This was at 55,000 miles. I think I'm going to have to start changing the fuel filter at about 40,000.
Fuel filter is interchangeable between many VW and Audi.
-fuel filter -fuel lines (ss braided are great)
Try changing out the fuel filter, sounds like you have a lot of water in it. Wen the filter fills up with water, the engine pulls gas off the top (gas is lighter than water) and regularly gets a slug of water along with it which can cause a misfire at startup and on the road too.
Just finished my 5K service. My dealer had never stocked the VW 507 oil! Special order for me. Anyway, your 2007 has the BWF engine where the fuel filter sits beside the motor on the driver side. in the middle of the four hoses is a torx head screw. Remove this and pump out (or syringe out as I did) about 100cc. Mine was perfectly clean.
Just try putting a new fuel filter on the car totally empty, and see what happens.
