Oil filter K&N or OEM Toyota
you can slap some new wheels on for a fresher look but obviously do this with number 2 in mind.
I have used K&N filter the entire time on my car. Owned it for almost 5 years and never had a problem.
I highly recommend getting the k&n oil filter having a socket ready filter saves so much frustration
I run Valvoline full synthetic 5w30 high mileage formula with a K&N oil filter.
all my Toyotas have had free oil changes and 2 tire rotations per year with Platinum Family Plan.
after I reached 120k miles on my last 2 trucks I did it myself . Oil Filter OEM Toyota were 8-10$ and 35$ for 6 quarts of Full Synthetic Oil
I've done Blackstone reports on my 2012 sequoia 5.7L for the last 6 years I've owned it (now at 140k miles). They always say I'm good with my 10k mobile one oil/Toyota filters and reports are always good.
I use K&N 1008 on my 13, the OEM is slightly higher capacity but I think it affects pressure, and I get a light tick on occasion with OE.
That happened to me too. I went to Dick Dyer Toyota because it's closer to my house and they charged me $100 because they put in a new oil filter
I couldn't do my own oil change last time since the weather was pretty bad and I was long over due. Brought it to Toyota of Bellevue, they had overtighten the oil filter to the point where I had to punch a screwdriver through it to get it out when I did my own change. Wouldn't want to take my car there again.
I changed my oil yesterday and was baffled to see how dirty my oil was at 5k miles!! Those k&n oil filters may have higher flow but mannnn do they get dirty. Do not recommend.
