Oil filter Mann or Mobil
My local Advance Auto has the factory Mann filters...
I use Mobil 1 synthetic 0w20 with Mobil1 M1-209 screw-on filter for the 2012. I've been doing this for these cars since they were new. We don't put too many miles/year on these cars and so I change the oil every fall and every spring. Never had a problem.
I would stick with MANN filters since they are an OE supplier.
filter is the nipple mk2 type that mounts to the fire wall next to the turbo.
Per VAG-COM, 5,7xx miles and 372 days on this filter (Mann as I posted above): Looks fine to me!
I used the Mann 950/4 on my 1.8t and sent my oil out for analysis to Blackstone labs. They reported that the filtration level for that filter was superior.
I always use Mann as well with no issues.
My g/f and I use Mann filters in both our GTIs and never had any issues.
I had this very same problem with my golf. Replaced both oil pressure sensors....nothing. Did an oil change....nothing. Replaced the instrument cluster....nothing. I was about to pull the pan off the motor to check for clogging on the screen or if the pump was faulty when I thought about an engine flush. I did just that, new 10w40 oil and mann filter and problem solved.
I ordered and received a bunch of maintenance items for the Van. But I plan to cover: Fuel lines (finally) Trans Filter/Flush Rear Diff Gasket and fluid Headlight Relay Kit Dual Washer nozzles Upper Ball Joints Lower Ball Joint Repack the front bearings SST Brake lines 4 corners 15W-50 Mobile 1Oil and new Mahl/Mann filter With the above it should be good for another year of backup use.
