Oil filter OEM Toyota or Mobil
I use the M1-301 as well, the added capacity from the oversized filter is just nice for peace of mind. It's a PITA to get in and out though.
i used mobil 1 301 filter in my passat for a year never has black oil oh ya my motor has over 200k on it with 15psi on it. mobil 1 is good stuff
My last car ran bosch filters and mobil 1 5w30. the guts were spotless. for my break in period on the new one i used mobil 1 filter. for probably longer than i should have. filtered very well. oil had very little specks in it.
Mobil 1 0w40 in summer, 5w30 in winter, M1-205 filter all the time, oil is never black when I drain it after 4-5k miles
just changed oil tonight... Mobil 1 0W-40 (VW 502.00 approved) along with a Mobil 1 M1-205 filter... It's my second one, no issues with the first one...
I have used Mobil-1 filters for years. Best filter out there IMHO. Well, they recently (within the last year or so) redisgned the can and labeling. The new lable has a pictogram of a full filter with a circle with a line through it. I was like Since I've filled the filter for 16 years, I decided to call the 800 number and ask WTF? So the guy says that they changed their recommendation based on the fact that modern filters have bypass valves and filling it is pointless. I pressured him on it, and he said that filling it wont hurt, so do it if you like.
have used them with excellent results 90k on my 2003 jetta 1.8T only castrol 5W-40 syntec and mobile 1 filters. my engine is as clean as new on the inside. they filter down to 5 micron or so. also if you look inside of the mobile 1 filter it will have a valve or check ball like the factory uses.
My Honda guy says to use Mobil 1, OEM filter and change every 5k.
Mobil 1 M1-301 Like the Champion, this filter is made by Champion Industries. However, it uses a unique end plate and a thicker can that make it the strongest filter available for wide-distribution retail sale. It also does not use the fragile paper media of the Champion filter. I’m happy to say that this filter is NOT a fake. It is definitely a unique design. It uses a synthetic fiber element that can filter out very small particles and is much stronger than the fragile, Champion paper media. It is rated just under the Purolator Pure One as far as filtering capability, but is still very much above conventional paper filters. It also has a very strong construction to withstand high-pressure spikes during start-up. Given the choice between the Purolator Pure One and the Mobil 1 filters, I would choose the Mobil 1 because of the restriction concerns of the Pure One and that pesky assembly string. However, as with all Mobil 1 products, expect to pay 2 - 3 times as much for this filter.
Been using the 205 filter for 30K. I drive it pretty hard, so far so good.
