Shock absorbers Bilstein or OEM Toyota
They are on most of my cars, i have never been let down by the yellow bilstein HDs.
I ran the bilsteins with h&r sport springs for 100km on my b6 cabrio (2004) Little stiffer then factory. But not unbearable at all.
B6 is perfect imo for a sporty street driving car. I had a 320i where the stock shocks were terrible, and switched to stock springs + B6. The ride immediately improved and it wasn't stiff at all. You do feel a bit more of the ground but it's a lot less crashy when bad pavement exists.
I have 6112/5160 with icon leafs and UCAs, love it. Really transforms the truck.
Yes - they are different form the regular golf wagon. 55mm (AT) knuckle vs 50 (golf). definitely go with Alltrack-specific Bilstein B4 or B6 (not just OE replacement).
I ran the MK6 Bilstein B8 set with Eibach Sportline springs on my MKV and loved the setup. Worked great on street and even did quite well on track. I am an older guy (less tolerant of a rough ride) and they were great.
Go with Bilstein 4600 like others said, 5100 is too stiff unless you are more loaded down
If it is a true FX4 (later models), it already had some of the best shock absorbers to begin with - Bilstein.
Just go with Bilsteins.
I've put the Bilstien HDs on several Weekenders and think they are too soft IMO.
