NGK Spark plug

changed out some spark plugs, shop here: http://autotech.com/passat/b6-3-6l-2006-2009/3-6l-vr6-ngk-spark-plug.html also I decided to get a new valve cover (comes with new gasket, bolts, bolt o-rings, and of course a new PCV oil separator that are prone to fail)

I have a 12 GLI with 82k and just changed my plugs for the first time. Holy cow what a difference. It had been running a little rough and even made it seem like the clutch was slipping on hard acceleration between 3 and 4. I thought it was carbon buildup, but I just had that cleaned up at 60k. The new plugs make it run like new again.

Pros: runs like new again
Cons: running a little rough
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 131200 km

Autolite Spark plug

The truck is currently using Autolite XP5245 iridiums. Normally I would go with something from NGK but I figured if the Autolites were a decent price I would get them and they would probably last the life of the truck

Pros: decent price
Part number: XP5245

I have replaced the four spark plugs with properly gapped VW (NGK) plugs and still the #2 misfires cold and randomly thereafter. The original ones looked quite normal actually - chocolaty brown. Very little wear and a .032" gap.

Pros: normal appearance, little wear
Cons: misfires cold, misfires randomly

I also just put in a set of NGK BKR7E's and gapped them a little large (.034) seeing as the ones I pulled out were at .043 That did nothing and the issue is still persistent.

Pros: issue is still persistent
Cons: did nothing
Part number: BKR7E
