Starter motor Denso or Bosch
I put in a reman denso starter in my 06 Titan back in 2017. Still working great!
Have any of the starters been Denso brand? I thought I remember hearing that for certain models of Japanese cars the starter HAS to be Denso (the OEM manufacturer) or it wont spin fast enough consistently to start the engine.
If it’s like the ones over here in the US, it’ll fit but the cable connector is in a slightly different place. I have a Denso Accord starter on my car now.
I installed the starter, which was apparently the upgrade and Bosch has since reverted back to the "old style" with the support dowel. Everything starting-wise is working great
Stick with Bosch if possible, get the autostick (SR17X) starter and eliminate bushing issues.
The top one is OE Denso. The aftermarket new Chinesium on the bottom. But I’ve heard better things about new Chinesium than reman Mexican.
the denso I had before was sealed water tight.
I wouldn't recommend buying a noname brand though and rather go for remanufactured denso or whatever the original was.
So I sent it on a nice Bosch one. That lasted 3 months and just failed today.
I recently had to repair my Bosch starter after hearing a weird noise while driving. It ended up that the starter drive would not return back so the drive gear was rubbing against the ring gear.
