Strut assembly Bilstein or KONI
I have H&R race springs and bilstien sports on my GTI right now. They handle great and ride very very nice.
I've actually got the FK hightec springs/koni str.t combo, and love it. handles great, and (imo) looks really good.
I\"ve had the high tec springs with koni str.t's for about 6 months & love 'em... wife hates 'em cuz the ride is pretty stiff now, but it lowered it just enough for my likes....
IMHO, Bilstein struts are better than OEM Sachs and Boge struts. The units have a lifetime warranty, and are a great replacement!
If you can get Bilsteins for less than OEM struts..grab that quick! Bilsteins are true lifetime parts..I\"ve run sets well over 125K miles and they were just as firm as the day I installed 'em!
At about 75000 miles, I replaced my rear struts with Bilstein HD struts. Let me tell you, 90% of my handling woes were the rear struts being dead. I haven't replaced the fronts yet.
I've already got the Neuspeed Upper Tie Bar, Neuspeed Rear Three Pt Tie Bar, Rear Sway Bar, Polyurethane engine mounts, Techtonics Heads and full exhaust, Bilstein struts
I used Neuspeed SofSport springs on the front with Bilstein HD struts. The drop is minor and ride quality is good for daily driving.
I've dealt with Koni before and, while cumbersome, they backed their stuff up and sent me 2 new front struts after the seals popped.
I ended up buying new bilstein struts and Vogtland springs off some guy who said they were for my FWD, but they're clearly for the AWD. And now he's not returning my messages...
