Timing belt OEM Subaru or OEM Toyota
I bought my 1st Toyota T100 3.4l it had 198k miles, when I removed upper timing cover, the water pump pulley FELL out, the belt was about 1/2 as wide as new. Truck ran fine!
My in-laws Toyota is at 230k original timing belt miles.
I did my timing belt on my 07 wrx tr @90k miles n i used all oem parts. Imo oem is probably best
when I got my '06 sti 3 years ago I replaced the original belt with roughly the same mileage on it and it looked to be in fine condition despite being 13 years old.
When I had mine done a year ago, independent shops were quoting $950-$1,100 while a Toyota dealer quoted $1,200.
I had about 205,000 miles on my avalon when i traded it in... that had the original timing belt.
I have a 2002 V6. I bought it new and didn't change the original timing belt until 2015 at 181,613 miles. I didn't have a particular REASON to change it then. I just decided I wanted peace of mine that I wouldn't get stranded somewhere. My old one was a little cracked, but who knows how much longer it would've lasted.
I just did the same job on my 2007 forester from the dealership, paid about the same amount, maybe a little more
