Tires Continental or BRIDGESTONE
I'm running the stock 19"s on my Mk8 with Continental Vikings. So far I'm content.
Continental Vikingcontact 7 is by far my favorite for snow and ice mix (we get a lot of slush with ice under it here). also pretty quiet for a winter tire on dry roads.
I run Nokian Hakka RS5 on my GTI. Continental Viking contact 7 on our Golf wagon. Both are excellent.
Currently on Continental winter contact TS860 235 35 19, cannot say a word against them in light and heavy snow conditions.
For Illinois daily driving, I’d go with the Bridgestone WeatherPeak out of the three you listed it’s been the most consistent in wet + light-snow grip and rides smoother than the Contis or the BFGs. I swapped to WeatherPeaks earlier this year and they’ve handled Midwest rain and early flurries way better than my old set.
Continental DWS 06+. They are an awesome all season tire.
I run continental viking contacts on my NA because it was tough to find many options in the 15" size. No complaints from me though I don't really drive it too much in the winter cuz the roads get salted around here so I only do it when it's warm enough that day that I can wash the underside off without the water freezing.
I've found conti are good until 50% worn then they're like train tracks
These tires are trash. Bought my Weatherpeaks 11 months ago, drove in Minnesota April 2024-March 2025, 15k miles since my purchase on a babied and garaged 2022 Jeep Compass - no daily commuting, no offroading, alignments and rotations as scheduled, inflated properly, suspension no issues, and I'm at 4/32 on the back, 5/32 on front - WTH these are 70k tires!
Turanza for 1 car, Dueler HT IIs for another. Ang ingay pareho sa highway rinig mo talaga ugong sa highway parang may sirang bearing.
