Tires Continental or Cooper
I’ve been happy with my Continentals and have never had a customer come back complaining about any set that they’ve bought.
Recently got the continental extremecontact dws06 plus. Very happy with them. Softer ride and good all season traction. Great performance for everyday driving and some backroads on the weekend
I had to replace my PS4s at 15000 miles, the rears were toast. After a lot of research and asking fb group, also went with Continental Extreme Contact DSW06 and am very happy with them so far. I'd say just as grippy as the Michelins but all-season which I needed to change to plus tread wear warranty is good
I highly recommend swapping the tires out for GP5000s. I’m happy that I did it when I went to carbon wheels.
I picked up some Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail ATs for my 2017 RAV4 AWD, in 235/70r16. I haven't seen many reviews of these yet, so I wanted to give some of my thoughts. I've only had them for about a week so I can't give any advice on how they'll hold up, but I have loved them so far. In central PA, we've also had a nice variety of weather in the period since I've gotten them, so they've been tested in several conditions already.
* Wet Traction - 9.5/10
* Really confidence-inspiring wet grip. This is always a question mark with AT tires, but absolutely no trouble at all with these. Braking is especially impressive, even in standing water.
* Dry Traction - 8/10
* Nothing to complain about here - stopping distance and dry traction are both more than adequate for an all-terrain tire.
* Snow Traction - 9/10
* Really impressive snow traction. I tested in deep snow and a variety of slushy conditions. The RAV4 had no trouble at all going through 4-6 inches of snow (on grass), even even starting up a hill in those conditions provided no trouble at all. Braking is also impressive in the snow, inspiring confidence on my snow-covered driveway.
* Comfort/Noise 8/10
* They definitely are a little bit stiffer going over bumps than the standard all-season tires that were on the vehicle before, but nothing I would consider to be viscerally unpleasant. Noise is relatively silent, with the addition of maybe a very slight hum at highway speeds.
Overall, I have absolutely no regrets with my purchase, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these for a person who is interested in a fairly rugged tire that can handle all conditions adequately.
I had Extreme Contacts and loved them. I swapped my ContiProContact5s on my 24 S5 Sportback for Extreme Contact DWS06+ as I had them on my 17 Fusion Sport and absolutely loved them.
Blasted through a Salt Lake winter storm a few weeks ago with these. Were amazing on my S3 so I highly recommend. I'm very happy with the continentals though!
I’m on my second set on my Lexus GS350 and I love them. To me they’re just as quiet and grippy as the Michelin PS4S that came on the car but a little cheaper. I do think the continental wears a little faster but it’s almost negligible. They’re fantastic in the rain and dead quiet which were my main concerns.
My wife bought a new Golf R. 19” wheels with Continentals. In no time at all she hit a pothole and pinched a tire which required replacement. I immediately put a space saver spare in the car.
Same thing happened to me with conti gp5000 after around a year. I replaced, but will move on to different brand and tire if it happens again in such a short period of time
