Continental is the only way to go, period. I tried the PilotSports - junk. OEM's - junk.
If studded tires aren't an option I've had good experiences with Continental Vikintcontacts, although a non-studded tire will always perform worse on ice.
Have the continental tires all 4 wheels of my 2018 turbo love them ride nice on highway driving.
Ever since I started using the ExtremeContact DWS years ago on my ‘08 Mazda6, I’ve never gone back except for the stock tires that came on my ‘15. I really liked them when I had to deal with snow.

Jesu bucne, ali idu tamo gdje ti hoces i staju kad ti hoces. Po 3-4 sezone ih vozim bez ikakvih promjena u ponasanju. Jedino ih je bitno na vrijeme zamjeniti jer se nokian doslovno topi po ljetu.
I am using them on MYLR since 8 months and already clocked 10k miles tread loss is around 15%, hoping to clovk 60k miles atleast - very sure. They are superb and tesla stock tires (Continental) were mess and in just 18K state inspection failed because there was no tread left LOL
This will be the eighth year on Hakkepelitta's, so yes they are pricey but the quality is amazing. They look brand new because I've only done 35k kms on them!
Conti's on my R since 1000K miles. I'm at 24K now and they're holding up great. I'm in CT, we get some good snow events here, not like Chi town I'm sure, but the couple times I had to go out in it I wasn't too worried.
I currently have the Continental Sport Contact 5 SSR tires. They were what CarMax put on when I bought it. I don’t care for the run flat technology as my insurance covers towing as well as I have a plug kit and portable compressor in my car if it’s not bad enough for those to handle it. I was looking at the Kumho LX Platinum KU27 but really don’t know much about the specifics of tires. Looking for advice on my current choice and/or recommendation. Thanks!
Nokian Outposts: 2,390 mi. 9.8% worse efficiency. Would not recommend Nokians: Probably great offroad. Nothing short of scary on road. These tires are totally overwhelmed with the weight and power combo of the Rivian quad platform.
