Tires MICHELIN or Achilles
I can only talk about the X-Ice Snow and for only one season, its probably the best performing winter tire I've used and is rather quiet. They claim they'll outlast their major competition but I can't verify.
The Michelin Road 5 and Road 6 have a "GT" version with an extra ply for heavier bikes. I have Road 5 GTs on my RT and Road 6 on another bike and they're pretty great.
I ditched the runflats and got Michelin pilot sport 5s. Best thing I ever did
I just swapped my JCW from run flats to Michelin Pilot Sports and it’s SOOOO much better.
I have the same CrossClimate 2 tires on my R60. Love them.
Good move! I’ve got 4 of those baby’s waiting for the new Clubman to arrive. Great tires. Noise reduces after a 1000 or so. Fantastic any time of year but especially in snow and rain.
I did the same and got the same tires, cross climate 2. Ride is so much smoother over potholes and bumps.
Decided to remove the Run Flat tires and upgraded to Michelin Crossclimate 2 tires. Immediately I could tell how much better the car drives. Smoother and quieter. Really looking forward to winter.
There’s a guide by Michelin out there and according to that a little surface level dry rot is nbd, especially in the tread area
I wouldn't recommend Achilles tires in general. The bare tire (unmounted) flat-spotted under its own weight.
